On September 20, 2008 at approximately 1910 hours the victim, Ivy Lynn Thomas, black male, 08-02-76 was found shot to death at 1638 Kaufman.  Witnesses advised Detectives that the victim Ivy Thomas was chased by an unidentified black male through a grassy field who was firing shots at him. The victim was hit from behind and fell to the ground in front of a residence located at 1638 Kaufman. The unidentified black male then stood over the victim and fired multiple shots into the victim before fleeing the scene through the grassy field from which he came.
