On Wednesday May 28, 2008, at approximately 0057 hours, Uniform Patrol Officers were dispatched to 11585 North Harrell's Ferry, relative to a shooting. Upon their arrival, Uniform Patrol Officers located a black male subject, later identified as DONALD THOMAS, who was shot multiple times and was deceased at the scene. Uniform Patrol Officers secured the scene and notified Homicide Detectives.
Based on interviews and physical evidence, Detectives believed that the following occurred: MR. THOMAS was talking to a group of people in the parking lot of the apartment complex. MR. THOMAS eventually left that group and began walking between Buildings 18 & 24 towards his cousin's apartment. When MR. THOMAS made it to the front of Building 18, he was approached by two unidentified black males, one of which produced a handgun and shot MR. THOMAS multiple times.
