On September 9, 2007 at approximately 2 a.m., there was a shooting in the parking lot of Club Venue located at 8190 Plank Road.  Two vicitms were struck by the gunfire, Jermaine Lewis died from his gun shot wounds but his friend was treated at a hospital and released.
