On January 26, 2006, 22 year old Richard Sopsher was shot in the parking lot of the Burger King located at 6244 Airline Hwy. Richard and his Uncle were in the Burger King parking lot waiting for a friend they were meeting. While waiting for their friend to arrive, two unknown black males approached Richard in his vehicle, attempted to take his money, shot him and fled the scene.
